Weeds grow everywhere in my garden. In fact, I actively encourage their growth, helping sow ripe seeds in the hopes that more weeds will grow.

What kind of weeds am I talking about? Medicinal weeds of course.

Weeds such as plantain, purslane, lambs quarters (fat hen), borage, ribwort, chickweed and my ultimate favourite, dandelion.

I am fortunate to have a moderately decent sized block of land and over the years we’ve turned the horrendous builders fill ‘soil’ into a much healthier, nutrient dense soil in most areas. In other areas, we’ve built raised garden beds from recycled wood and left over Colourbond fencing panels because it was just too hard to dig through the gluggy rocky concrete slurry and brick mix.

Which brings me to one of my favourite green smoothies. Wildcrafted Green Smoothies.

Most of these medicinal weeds can be purchased from places like Greenpatch seeds, Eden Seeds, All Rare Herbs (my favourite place) and The Seed Collection (my second favourite).
